Welcome

Our credo is to deliver medical assistance to all who need medical help, in the shortest possible time and with the highest care. We do not accept any discrimination in pursuing this objective and treat our patients with the highest respect and dignity owed to each human being.

Welcome on the official site of the Polish Medical Air Rescue.

The present organizational structure of the Polish Medical Air Rescue was created in 2000, yet we are the heirs to the traditions of the Polish pre- and postwar medical aviation.

We perform the following tasks connected both with medicine and aviation:

  • medical emergency – flights to traffic accidents and other emergency cases and delivering medical assistance to the injured and sick,
  • air transfer of patients between the hospitals,
  • air transfer of patients from abroad to Poland (e.g. Polish citizens who suffered abroad from road accidents or are seriously ill),
  • air transfer of patients to the hospitals outside Poland.

Polish Medical Air Rescue operates from 17 bases in Poland. In each of them there is a helicopter medical emergency crew on duty, consisting of a pilot, paramedic/nurse and physician. Additionaly, we are on call with our plane medical emergency crew, which is stationed in a military zone of Warsaw-Okęcie airport. The head office of the Polish Medical Air Rescue is located in Warsaw.

Polish Medical Air Rescue operates in compliance with the regulations of the bills: on the Polish Medical Emergency System, on the state budget, on public finances, on the health care organisations act and on aviation code. It is a government financed organisation.
